How does a comedian become so controversial without getting famous? Jake Flores is maybe more what you'd call "infamous." Sharp, yet rough around the edges... gross, but weirdly intellectual... drunk, and also tired... one thing everyone can agree on is that he's, at the very least, loud. Sort of a perpetual outsider in the stand up world, Jake can be seen in dive bars, rock venues, living rooms, autonomous zones, and occasionally comedy clubs. On stage he drags audiences through stories and musings about obscure drugs, weird sex, fist fights, masculinity, monsters, killers, and the general grime of working for a living. It's all vaguely political without really mentioning anyone wearing a suit. On the internet he's iconoclastically drawn the ire of Department of Homeland Security, right wing podcasters, libertarian pundits, and tons and tons of angry young men. He's written satire for outlets like The Observer, and hosts the comedic and ambiguously "goth" leftist DIY podcast Pod Damn America, and pops up frequently on twitter and the meme-o-verse. Terminally averse to mainstream success, he's nonetheless been picked up as a touring opening act for names like Patton Oswalt and alternative rockers Eve6. He's also performed at clubs, colleges, festivals and blah blah blah...
